Job Title:                    Digital Design Coordinator

THE POSITION

Want to work for an innovative organization that is making a difference every day? Daily Bread Food Bank is looking for a creative person to fill the role of Digital Design Coordinator in its small, but mighty, Communications department. You have experience in responsive web design, managing and building websites and creating engaging content (including videos) for a variety of digital platforms.

In addition to managing Daily Bread’s social media sites, you will primarily be responsible for keeping www.dailybread.ca and the occasional microsite looking beautiful with interactive, engaging and accessible content.

You are a collaborator – a team player that can also work independently in a fast-moving environment. You have a keen eye for detail and an ability to coordinate a project from conception to implementation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to design, build, update and manage interactive and accessible WordPress websites using knowledge of responsive web design as well as HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Create online forms and develop customized plugins.
  • Design online and print content for campaigns and events, research reports/annual reports; upload and publish images, pages and multimedia to websites and social media platforms.
  • Configure online donation pages, event pages and other aspects of online fundraising through Convio.
  • Collaborate to create and market relevant content and interactive media experiences through social media and website; including coordinating, creating, editing and posting videos.
  • Coordinate, layout and send monthly eNews
  • Take photos; build and maintain Daily Bread’s image and photo library.
  • Assist in developing social media strategies. Implement social media corporate processes, including content development, management and tracking.
  • Collect, analyze and report on analytics for website and social media to improve engagement and outreach.
  • Track, document, archive and report on Daily Bread coverage, and issues of concern to Daily Bread Food Bank, in the general media and online.
  • Provide event support as required, as well as media relations support.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE (or equivalent)

  • Degree or diploma in web design, marketing, digital media, graphic design or a combination of education and proven experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of related work experience.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience in project planning
  • Advanced knowledge of graphic design for online and print production including HTML, WordPress, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery and Adobe Creative Suite or other desktop publishing software
  • Proven experience in website design and management
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s Website Content Accessibility Guidelines and AODA legislation
  • Proven experience in photography and video creation/editing software
  • Experience creating e-newsletters using Mail Chimp (or similar software)
  • Experience working with online fundraising platforms (e.g. Convio)
  • Proficiency in SEO, web analytics (Google Analytics), social media and media monitoring tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with, various social media and other online engagement platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, blogs
  • Superior accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workloads in a fast-paced environment 
  • Highly creative and innovative
