Description

Supervisor: David Ross; VP & CMO
Job Summary: To provide assistance to the Chief Marketing Officer by aiding in planning, organization and execution of all marketing efforts for the GVF Group of Companies. This role includes two main areas of responsibility, graphic design and marketing assistant.
Educational Background
Diploma or Degree in Marketing Communications or related field
Graphic Design training
Required Skills
Expert in Mac operations of Adobe CS6
Expert in Microsoft Office 2011.
A clear understanding of proper file management and organization
Capable of preparing print-ready files and professional communication with business partners.
Experience Needed
1 + years professional or co-op experience in a marketing design role
Graphic Designer Responsibilities
Produce in-house marketing material for various division of the company including but not limited to logos, brochures, business cards, flyers, event invitations and fact sheets.
Produce graphics for tradeshow events including banner ups, table displays and other required booth displays.
Produce large format graphics for outdoor advertising including billboards and vehicle wraps.
Produce graphics for ads in numerous magazines and newspapers spanning across multiple species.
Produce in-store graphic material for retail store including signage, labels and product packaging.
Design and develop websites using the WordPress platform, and maintain and monitor the analytics and functions of each website.
Marketing Responsibilities
Coordinate the mailing distribution of monthly flyers and quarterly newsletters, keeping lists updated and delivered to necessary parties on time.
Manage all email marketing efforts including updating lists, design monthly and quarterly emails and distributing emails on time.
Offer strategic insight into the design of all marketing materials.
Accommodate the various needs of sales team and other staff including but not limited to processing clothing orders, reordering business cards and formatting PowerPoint presentations.
Maintain a presence on social media for multiple divisions of the company and responding to customers in a timely manner.
Monitor the marketing customer service email account and respond to customers in a timely manner by answering questions or directing them to the appropriate employee.
Monitor analytics and ensure proper SEO for company websites and assist with the maintenance of WordPress websites.
Assist with the planning and executing of various trade shows. This includes planning the layout of the booth, preparing and loading all necessary equipment onto trailer, setting up the booth on-location, orchestrate the dismantling of equipment after the trade show and unloading equipment off the trailer back to its destination.
Assist with the planning and execution of various conferences, seminars, banquets and town hall meetings. This includes strategizing the event theme and timeline, booking vendors and ensuring sufficient supplies are available, managing all communications with invitees and facilitating all aspects of the event on the day of.
Conduct photo shoots of products, people and events.
Working Environment
The GVF Group of Companies presently includes six different sub companies which all require marketing efforts. Sub companies include Grand Valley Fortifiers, Fortified Nutrition, Farmers Farmacy, Valley Feeds, Direct Source Commodities, and True Foods. As a result, the GVF Group of Companies marketing department functions similar to a small ad agency.
Hours
8 AM to 5:30 PM
Additional hours will be required for special projects such as trade shows and events.
