Description

Come work with us – we’re an awesome organization that makes a difference, works hard, and still knows how to have fun!
Our company…
Founded in 1971 to advance the struggle for sexual liberation, Pink Triangle Press is Canada’s leading LGBT media organization. We publish DailyXtra.com, DailyXtraTravel.com, and the gay adult dating website Squirt.org.
Our culture…
We believe in flexibility, and the celebration of individuality here at PTP – and we think our organizational culture reflects that! We have a casual dress code, a friendly atmosphere, and where the position permits we have flexible hours. We believe in being good at what we do, and working hard – but that fun can be had along the way. We have an attractive benefits package, an employee and family assistance program, and a company-matched pension plan.
Come work with us…
Pink Triangle Press is looking for a Digital Designer to provide editorial, marketing, and advertising design services for our online properties, publications, and advertising clients. You will have experience with building animated and interactive ads (Adobe Flash, HTML5), and a strong awareness of mobile design and CMS platforms. You will also possess a solid understanding of optimizing images and the constraints involved in designing for online media.
Your additional proven skills and experience will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Education degree/certification in graphic design and/or interactive design
- Fluent in the fundamentals of typography, composition and colour theory
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and responsive web design
- Working knowledge of SEO, internet marketing, e-mail design and social media
- Familiarity using data sources with the ability to interpret complex information in order to produce engaging visualisations
- Aptitude for conceptualizing and designing charts, maps, diagrams and illustrations
- Interest/expertise in user experience and web usability
- Awareness of media culture, advertising trends, DailyXtra’s readership, Squirt’s membership base and LGBT issues
It would also be ideal if you have:
• Mobile development experience (Web, iOS, Android)
• Project management knowledge
• Good understanding of technology infrastructure terms, concepts and technologies
• Experience with Squirt.org from a user’s perspective
Note that the ideal person for this role will be comfortable working with and around sexually explicit products and material
If this job sounds like it’s for you, please apply! You do not need to be a part of the LGBT community in order to work here – allies are absolutely welcome to apply.
