Description

Title: Scodix ultra pro Printer Supervisor (NOC 7218)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time
Salary: $75.000.00 Annually for 40.00 Hours per week, Medical Benefit, Dental Benefit, Disability benefit, Life Insurance Benefit, Group Insurance Benefits.

Experience: The applicant must be experienced in the operational function and applications as well as the market opportunities affordable by this unique technology. The role will incorporate a multifaceted responsibility to ensure the production teams are trained in the full use of the equipment and substrates as well as to assist the sales and marketing effort. Due to the technical nature of the substrates in use we seek an applicant with a science background ideally with a degree in Chemistry.

Specific Skills:
- The applicant will ideally have a marketing and sales background and as well a minimum of 2 years experience with operating and maintaining one of these machines. A chemistry background is ideally required in order that we can undertake R&D in the testing of the different polymers that this machine can run and testing of different substrates related to the type of work we do here in Canada.
- The successful applicant must be computer literate and familiar with all prepress software to be able to prepare and process digital files to load onto this machine.
- Workflow experience would be helpful but not mandatory.
The applicant must be willing to travel across Canada as needed for presentations on weekdays and or weekends as required. (Out of pocket expenses and travel/accommodation will be remunerated).
Duties:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities of workers who produce camera work and printing plates and cylinders; process film; and print, bind and finish of printing products loading and checking pre-printed and pre laminated substrate. Retrieving, loading and checking artwork files. Running testing and approval sheets. Running job with predetermined quality control standards. Delivering sheets with relevant production control instructions to finishing department.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other company departments including sales department, determining optimum performance levels and ensuring operators are trained and fully motivated to reach those levels. Ensuring accurate communication with other department heads pre socdix and post scodix to allow for optimum performance.
- Review and approve all the job proofs or samples produced by Scodix technology; in order to ensure quality of work meets client specifications.
- Requisition materials and supplies from overseas suppliers, creating and managing relevant stock levels. Creating strong relationships with department’s heads to maintain overview of forthcoming work and ensure best materials are selected for best scodix use.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality in Scodix technology.
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies to ensure the application and operating of Scodix technology and machinery respectively.
- May set up machines or equipment as needed to implement the Scodix technology within CJ. Graphics Inc as being the unique Scodix technology provider in North America.
