Description

The National Ballet of Canada, Canada’s premier dance company and one of the world’s top international dance companies, is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellent design, strong knowledge in graphic design programs, is flexible, organized, detail oriented and an excellent communicator.
Reporting to the Graphic Designer,the successful candidate will primarily create digital marketing materials for the Communications and Development departments (static and Flash-animated ads and campaigns, web banners, social media and e-communications graphics). Other duties include assisting the Graphic Designer with print materials including, but not limited to, print advertisements, design proposals, invitations, brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, signage and other collateral. They will also create content and manage the company’s Tumblr blog.
The Junior Graphic Designer will help to create an outstanding brand experience and engage our audiences through targeted, thoughtful collateral that achieves the goals set out in our campaign briefs.
Major Responsibilities:
> Designing and managing files for static and motion digital ad campaigns
> Assisting the web and digital team on creation of e-communications as required
> Maintaining the National Ballet Tumblr blog
> Designing print advertisements
> Editing and manipulating images for marketing, publicity and social media as required
> Ensuring all materials meet corporate branding and graphic standards
> Designing marketing and fundraising print communications as needed
> Obtaining production pricing and quotes and coordinating production
Qualifications:
> University degree, college diploma or equivalent, in graphic design
> 1 to 2 years professional experience working in design, layout, typography etc. for direct marketing, advertising design and corporate branding, preferably in-house
> Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash), Microsoft Office, intermediate HTML/CSS, blogging/internet proficiency, Wordfly
> Print production experience including knowledge of file formats, digital and offset processes
> Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines. Exceptional eye for detail and strong strong organizational skills
