Award winning interactive agency, A.K.A. New Media Inc. is looking for an experienced Intermediate Web Designer to join its progressive creative team. This position provides an opportunity to work on a wide array of creative digital projects from initial concept development through to final execution.  Please note that this is NOT a junior designer or technical position. A.K.A. is poised for growth and is seeking an experienced creative talent to engage, infuse and impact its team. Desired Skills and Experience

Criteria:

• Education degree/certification in graphic design and/or interactive design
• Minimum 3 years professional interactive web design experience
• Strong understanding of branding, positioning, and marketing
• Expert knowledge & hands on experience in Interface Design, Information Architecture, Typography, Colour Theory, HTML5, CSS3
• Proven experience working on complex online properties and a mastery of mobile responsive design
• Experience working closely with development team
• Experience preparing briefs, wireframes and creative mock-ups
• Proven concept development, visualization, prototyping, and production abilities
• High degree of design sensibility demonstrated in a wide variety of work
• Strong communication skills
• Strong project management and production experience
• Print design and production experience desirable
• Mobile app design experience an asset
• Working knowledge of HTML5, Javascript, CSS3, understanding of Content Management Systems, etc…

 

Must have a command of the following software:

• Adobe Photoshop CS5 or higher
• Adobe Illustrator CS5 or higher
• Adobe InDesign
• Sketch3, Adobe Premire and After Effect experience an asset
